Lee DeForest of DeForest Marketing & Design Solutions Group came through once again with an ideal space for the November meeting. Thank you DeForest Group! And thanks also to our presenters, Bobby Jacob and Michael Gurley, for sharing their learning with the group.

And now for something completely different. The presentations at our Nov 17, 2007 meeting will be followed by an unstructured hackfest. Members will have a chance to hack with the stuff we learn that day. Drop by Meetup.com to RSVP and to get the meeting location.
Topics:
- Agile Web Development With Rails – the continued review.
- Google Maps & Rails Apps – integrating the two.
To participate in the hackfest, please install & test Rails before the meeting. See you on Saturday!

The entire ChicagoRuby.org group is invited to lunch at Google.
- When: Fri, Nov 9, 2007 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm
- Where: Google’s office, 20 W. Kinzie Street, Chicago, IL 60610
- Details: Visit Lunch20.com
- RSVP: Email only to chi-lunch-2.0@google.com. Send your first and last name.
Concerns: TANSTAAFL , and the domain lunch20.com is registered to a guy with a Yahoo.com email address. See Whois. So… is this a clever joke? Tons of hungry folks descending on Google’s office for lunch as a payback for April Fools day jokes? I don’t know.
So I shared my concern with Cindy P. Burton, SF programmer and organizer of the lunch (or should I say “lunch”). Continue reading for her (unedited) reply…
